Antique necklace from early 19th century. Made in 22K gold, essential for the velvet effect. This necklace is a rare example from the 1830s of Anglo Indian granulation. The normal discussion favours Indian workmanship from the Raj (British in India). However, another train of thought is that they were a late Regency English manufacture.
